Update On My Life

Life Outlook: Positive
Current Weather:
10°C, Slightly Cloudy

Life has once again changed on me, but this time it appears to be for the better. In this update I have a bit of bad news, and some pretty good news to share. The bad news is simple and comes to no surprise - but once again I woke up sick and feeling like death. I just wish there was some way for me to know what was wrong with me and fix it...

...as for the good news: I got a new job!

Now I'm sure many of you are thinking, "What happened to Investors Group?" I shall endeavor to explain. Investors was a great opportunity and honestly was possibly the best job I've ever had. I loved my job there, and not to be smug, but I was great at it. However, early on it started to become apparent that Investors was not going to be a good fit, at least not at this stage in my life. I probably could have continued on there for a few years, however it would have been a struggle and in the event that I did leave I would have had to make sure my clients were taken care of. So, rather than build a large business and then move on, I decided to minimize my impact and step down while I was still just starting up.

I immediately started looking for a new job, and for the last while I haven't had much success. One bank told me in a rejection letter that I wasn't qualified for an entry level position. Another company interviewed me but didn't hire me because they felt I was over-qualified. The list of frustrations continued to build, until I got a call back from St. Amant centre about a position.

In a few weeks I'll be starting as a Scheduling Clerk at St. Amant, doing HR work. As weird as it sounds HR/Payroll work is something I've been interested in for a while (I even applied for an HR job with Safeway) - and I think this has the potentially to be a really good fit for me. It's a day job, which is awesome, and easy to get too - which is definitely a bonus. I'm pretty pumped, and I'm sure Josh is too.

In other news, I recently finished reading A Lion Among Men. It took me a while to get into (something I've found with all three Wicked books) but once I did it was a great story. It followed the rather unfortunate life of the Cowardly Lion. Sadly during my frustrations job searching I found a lot of myself in the Lion and the chaotic events of his life. I'm now reading another book by Christopher Moore, You Suck, which is pretty awesome. I've only been reading it for a day and I'm already half done. Damn it, he needs to come out with books faster.

So yeah, that's about it for my life these days. Wish me good luck with the new job! Oh and also, check out the links on the right, and if you haven't already done so, add me on Facebook/YouTube/Twitter. Now I'm off to go enjoy the blue skies and try to write! :-)
